Review:
Susan Shore sings about relationships that are psychologically complex
– fathers who love their daughters with eerie intensity, lovers
with powerful right hooks, passion built on the false illusions of
coke and alcohol. Can’t quite guess Shore’s genre? It’s
folk and bluegrass delivered sweet and at times haunting, in a voice
that’s clear and true. It’s the voice that draws you in,
and the words that hook, making for a CD that is captivating in a
way that can hinder concentration while driving. Be careful on the
road. Book of Days is that good. |
