Review:
The vivid greens and Celtic legends of The Emerald Isle have enthralled
many a songwriter and thus produced a lush landscape of Irish music.
Glenn Lonsdale and Carlis Faurot have fashioned one of the finer collections
of Irish tunes, culling their inspirations from poetry, golden wedding
anniversaries, and the name of an enchanting shop in Iowa’s
Main Amana. Their whirling Gaelic bounty begins with the CD’s
theme song, prompted by a casual mention of the Irish moon, which
got Glenn thinking about a couple dancing in an Irish field while
Carlis plays his fiddle in the distance. Just like the Irish, this
song, and the rest, are charming.
